For Kids

During this time many of our ministries are in transition.  If you have young people, we encourage you to contact the church 5074372473 regarding meeting times and logistics.

Children are an important part of the family that is Grace Baptist Church. We do not want to separate them from learning how to participate in the worship service yet also understand the difficulty for some parents to have their young children sit through the entire service. Thus, the children participate with the church body for worship in music, the reading of God's word, and giving. After the offering, they are dismissed downstairs with qualified leaders (many of whom are parents themselves) and have their own, age-appropriate Bible lesson. The goal is to fully integrate them into the worship service and train their hearts to receive the word. As with every child/youth ministry, leaders go through a background check and are well-known to the people of GBC.

Grace Baptist Church recently updated and expanded our nursery facilities. We have an upstairs nursery (near the auditorium) that has a private nursing room for new mothers, a bathroom, and plenty of space. This nursery is usually reserved for children who are not yet walking. Parents who sign their children in at the beginning are the only ones authorized to remove the children. Pagers are also available for any parent who wishes to use them.

For children 2-3 we have a children's room and play area downstairs next to the Jr. Church room. During Sunday morning services, children are supervised throughout the service in the downstairs room with the leaders.

To insure children’s safety, all of the lead nursery workers must pass a background check.

"Let the little children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the Kingdom of God. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." Mark 10:14-15

Children’s Sunday School is a place for kids aged 2-6th grade to learn more about our faith and to apply the Scriptures in practical ways.  Using Lifeway materials, teachers teach each class the same lesson at varying depth of understanding.  Classes are taught by teachers who care about each child’s faith journey.  All teachers go through a background check and have a desire to show the kids by word and by deed the amazing love of Jesus!

Every Wednesday between 6:00-7:30pm our young kids, grades K-6th, participate in our AWANA Bible and Character building program. https://www.awana.org/clubs/ It is a fun, exciting, and educational program. The kids learn about the Good news of Jesus, memorize Scripture, and make friends. Because you have entrusted us with the safety of your children, our leaders have been trained and have undergone background checks.

Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and maturing kids in the church and community.
